Turning Knitting patterns into Crochet patterns?
I am the knitter in the family and my mom crochets. We have a hard time finding decent sweater patterns in crochet. So, is there a way to turn a sweater pattern to knit into a sweater pattern to crochet?

- Here is a link for crochet sweaters. They also carry combo knit and crochet patterns on this site. Maybe it could be a joint venture for you both. http://www.marymaxim.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/category2_10001_10054_15077_-1_Y
- I can do both knitting and crochet but due to arthritis can now only crochet and like you found it very hard to come across crochet patterns that I liked. There are several sites out there with decent crochet patterns if you are prepared to look. Personally I use free software that you can download from www.greatknitdesigns.com this allows me to design my own sweaters/cardigans in any style/size that I want for either crochet or knitting. Maybe this will be of some help to your mum.
- I have yet to come across an effective method of "translating" patterns. It's not only because the height/width don't match up but also because the finished product is so different. They end up needing to be worked very differently whether knit or crochet.
