Learning to make clothing by hand sewing?

Can anyone suggest a good site or book for learning to sew clothing the old fashioned way by hand stitching. I do not want to use a sewing machine of any sorts... thanks for your answers

1. Man, I wish you lived next door to me. I've been trying to get my grandaughter interested, but to no avail. There are some very basic hand-stitching techniques for you to learn. Then, after you are proficient, move on to fabric specific ones. Decorative stitches are all based on basic techniques and will only be as good as your first stitches developed. Very important: Learn your sewing needles, they will become your very best friend or a nightmare. If you can, put a notice, with your phone number, where seniors hang out. With a bit of luck, you'll catch the eye of someone who loves to teach their craft. Another option is attend sewing classes at adult education, a fabric store...use your imagination. Good luck and choose your needles well!
