Stitches

What are some good websites that teach how to crochet?

I know only a few of the basics, like a chain stich, double crochet, and the granny square, but does anyone know any good sights that can teach you the other kinds of stitches?

  1. http://www.learntoknit.com/ if you will follow the links here, it should give you access to all the stitches and a lot of free patterns as well.
  2. I found some good books in the library. I got to check as many of them out and got to pick the one I wanted. I also went to a local bookstore. Good luck. Don't try anything to difficult that requires a lot of counting, it gets to be work. I like the Mile a minute Afghans that you do in strips, that way you only take the strip your working on with you, you don't have to lug around a big Afghan around.
  3. This website is very helpful, with teaching pages, and lots of free patterns. If you go to www.about.com they have pages on most crafts. The knitting one is particularly good!
  4. If you are like me, you need to actually see it done, like in a video. These sites are great for videos. http://www.freepatterns.com/content/content.html?cat_id=2&type_id=S http://www.nexstitch.com/Tutorials.html http://youtube.com/view_play_list?p=FFF15236A0B97605 There are many other videos besides these on youtube as well. These sites are good for instructions. The second one is also great for patterns. http://www.crochetcabana.com/tutorials/index.htm http://crochet.about.com/od/learnbasics/a/beginners.htm Crochet Cabana also has lots of links to other great websites in their "links" section. If you are interested in free patterns, this site is good too. http://www.crochetpatterncentral.com/directory.php Have fun!
