  1. I didn't know anyone does knitting anymore except grandmas! You go girl.
  2. In your knitting bag?
  3. I store mine in a fabric storage roll. You can purchase these at most craft stores (like JoAnn's) or you can make one yourself if you sew. Check here for directions: http://www.craftbits.com/viewProject.do?projectID=1153
  4. I store most of mine in a two part plastic tube made for knitting needles. I purchased it at a knitting shop. There are also cases that look like notebooks that zip on three sides, and fabric ones with compartments that roll up and tie. I also use one of those step baskets that sits on my stairs to hold yarns needles & supplies. Happy knitting
  5. I have mine in zip-lock bags, in zippered cases and in a wine basket. The cases are for matched sets and came with the needles (larger "interchangeables", smaller "interchangeables", and shorter knitting pins). The zip-locked are marked by size and include dpn's (double-pointed needles) and circulars. The wine basket (woven vertical cylinder) holds the longer knitting pins (pin = knitting needle with a "head" at one one). My knitting hooks are in a separate zip-lock and may eventually earn themselves a showier hand-sewn fabric roll-up storage unit.
  6. I have used 1. Pringles container, cleaned out, and decorated 2. Quaker oatmeal container 3. plastic organizing bin from target, I use little rubber bands to keep the needles together by size, in theory. 4. cloth roll up container, with pockets, good for circular needles 5. zip loc bags, with the size marked on the outside.
  7. I have interchangeables. I made a case for each needle-tip set that increases in size as I go across. I then used grommets to create holes for rings, so that my needle holder fit neatly into a binder. @ 1 Hot Photographer - you need to get out more. Knitting is pretty much a young, hip and chic thing to do. You're missing out.
  8. I LOVE vintage anything and found a cute needle storage box from Jordana Paige for my straight & double pointed needles: http://www.jordanapaige.com/knittingneedlebox.html. I am still looking for something equally as cute for my circular needles. =0)
  9. Just store them in a knitting bag with all your other supplies. I do knit those washcloths (cuz they are easy and it is all I know how to do). I just store them in my canvas bag that I have all my yarn in.
  10. Go to any department, thrift, or grocery store; look for storage containers section to find a 16 inch long cylindrical storage container. Something made for long spaghetti or a bag of crackers or straws that is long enough for 14 inch knitting needles. Make sure there is a lid that either fastens shut or screws on tight because you don't want the needles falling out by accident. Crochete hooks can also be stored the same way but they can fall through tiny holes or cracks in the plastic or metal so make sure the containers are solid.
  11. Sounds weird but when I cut a cardboard box in two I noticed there was a weaving like between the two papers. I keep my knitting needles in the middle of the cardboard. I start with the smallest and go on until it won't accept the larger.
