Know of any ways to prevent my dog from pulling out the stitches from being neutered, other than a e-collar?
I had my minpin neutered today, and i dont have an ecollar at the moment. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what i can do to keep her from pulling the stitches out while i cannot keep an eye on her?

- nope u need that collar thing
- keep an eye on her until you get one. go to petco. they are still open. take her with you.
- SARAN WRAP.secure it well
- this might soud funny but if you have sonthing to rap it wit then you should (it wocked wit my dog) and that colloer wit the cone it will defintly wont bit it wit that
- You gotta get the colar, how could they send you home without it?? Its only like 5bucks go get one!
- No -- just the "neck umbrella" -- that's all I know. Have had dogs all my life and it's the ONLY way. It's not a big deal -- they're cheap.
- The e-collar is going to be the only way that I know of. When we got ours done, our pup came home with the collar. I would not live him unsupervised under any circumstances until you get that collar. PetSmart is open late... go get one right now!
- If you have a plastic milk carton you can cut a temporary tudor collar shape from that and attatch to her collar with a ribbon or similar.
- do u know Caesar from the Dop Whisperer? think of what he would do......if u see ur dog trying to pull out the stiches, firmly but gently poke him with all 4 fingers on his shoulder area, (as if a dog is pinning him down)....and say "shhs!" real loud and abrupt with ur hand outreached towards him, so as to alarm him to remind him to stop doing that action again....
- they have the bitter apple spray used to keep dogs from chewing on things spray that around the area or tape a guaze pad on the site
- You need to get the collar. The dog WILL pull at the stiches, and then your looking at more vet bills and possibly a gnarly infection.... By the way - girl dogs get spayed, boy dogs get neutered. Go to the local pet store and get a collar. The dog will also find a way to chew off any other wrapping you try to put on the area - and the area is supposed to stay exposed so it may heal...
- The cone collar that is a firm plastic AND the old reliable product called "Bitter Apple" or " Bitter Lime"...it taste dreadful and will more likely than note keep her from chewing the stitches. BUT the collar is critical for the first couple of days, until the tissues begin to heal.
- Vanilla extract smells good taste Bad
