Stitches

Has anyone ever used anthing to put around a dog after they had stitches.......?

other than an e-collar has anyone ever used anything else to put around a dog to cover up and keep the stitches better protected?????

1. depending on where the stitches are, you could use a belly band. But, the E-collars are safest and easier to depend on.
2. Wrap him up with Ace bandages (about 3 of them) as long as he's properly cushioned from scratching/biting (which he's gonna do) he should be ok with out the collar.
3. I would ask my vet but, I think it is good for the dog to lick the wound. If you really think you should cover the wound, one of the elastic bands with the velcro to wrap sprained areas in humans. They come in all sizes for waist to wrist so you should find a fit for your dog.
4. A towel rolled up and taped around the neck to limit neck movement,and depending on the size of the dog,a baby onsie to cover the area
