does any one know how to cast on knitting?

I have never knitting before and I need some really simple instructions on how to cast on or a good website that shows you how but doesnt have videos as my comp cant handle them. Thanks!

It's how I first learned to knit, and it has videos for all sorts of techniques: http://www.knittinghelp.com/videos/cast-on Or, at the library or bookstore, you might want to check out Debbie Stoller's Stitch n' Bitch: The Knitter's Handbook. Hands down easiest instructions I've ever seen in a book. Just be patient, and you'll get it. Try bamboo needles if you can. They're not as slippery. Also, look for yarn that is wool or a blend... It's nicer to work with than acrylic. Good luck!
