Stitches

Stitches in tongue and teeth knocked out..how to keep them clean?

My husband was hit in the mouth with a softball, it knocked out 3 of his teeth. He also has 8 stitches in his tongue. What's the best advice for cleaning his teeth and keeping his tongue from getting infected. He has his top gums wired and 2 of the teeth were put back in, should he still brush them like normal? Salt water, Mouth wash? Which is better since he has an open wound in there.

  1. go to walgreens and get closis mouthwash...its the best stuff in the world for mouth sores
  2. oh! i have had something sorta like that happen to me except i fell on my face in a drive way and my tooth almost went through my toung...i know I'm only thirteen but my mom put peroxide on it, and that's what my doctor suggested too. don't worry he'll be fine
  3. I would strongly suggest getting a syringe (you can ask for one of these at your drugstore's pharmacy..they SHOULD give it to you for free!) Make up a solution of salt and luke warm water, fill syringe, and squirt injured areas. I hope this helps you and your hubby gets better soon!
