  1. it's more fun to knit with knitting needles but if you really want to use a knitting machine (a knitting machine actually weaves things instead of knitting them), make a scarf or arm/leg warmies
  2. my thought here is to look at the project booklet or the instruction for a website address, they should have some there. if not then i dont know what to tell you im a hand knitter.
  3. you can make ALMOST any thing on a knitting machine that can be made by handknitting - but the machine can only mainly knit stockinette stitch unless you also have the ribber attachment or the patience to do different stitches with the hand tools that came with the machine. you can buy pattern books for machine knitting at stores that sell the machines. I have had 3 singer knitting machines over the years but ended up giving them away as arthritis made them difficult to use. I used to use a software program which is available for free on the net that allowed me to design, create and print patterns for handknit, crochet and machine knit items. This program allows for the use of different tensions and yarns and has lots of different styles of sweaters and cardigans to choose from. I still use this program for creating crochet patterns. What you can make on a knitting machine is only limited to your imagination and creativity. Get creative and hope you have fun. Below is the link to the program called sweaters (the other 2 free programs are also extremely handy to have too) - go to the bottom of the page and download the free trial - there is no time limit but with the free trial you cannot save your pattern - but you can copy and paste them into a word processor http://www.greatknitdesigns.com/desc.htm if you need any more info or help contact me through my profile. Hope this helps.
