How do I learn to do different knitting patterns?

- There's a number of good books - in fact, a glut - but I'd recommend three by Sally Melville: The Knit Stitch, the Purl Stitch, and Colour. She's the best teacher I've encountered; it would be seriously difficult to make mistakes after taking her lessons.
- i know 2 ways to knit - cross stitch needle point to do these research
- you can search for free knitting patterns. there is usually a section that will show how to do different stitches. This is what I do for crochet. Lion Brand Yarn has lots of patterns you just need to do a free registration.
- http://knittinghelp.com It has free patterns (labeled with experience level needed) along with videos for many of the techniques you may not know or need a refresher on.
- http://www.white-works.com/index.html... http://www.e-patternscentral.com/?source... http://www.knittingonthenet.com/index.ht... http://www.diynetwork.com/diy/shows_dkng... http://www.woodsnwind.com/ http://www.coatsandclark.com/crafts/knit... These sites have several different patterns to choose from and they are free. Some of these sites even tell you step by step intructions.
- Read books duh.
