how do i modify needle knitting patterns for loom?

i have a set of round looms and a set of long looms as well, all knifty knitter. i'm frustrated with the lack of loom patterns online, and would love to access/convert the fantastic needle knitting resources. help/suggestions please? (and please don't tell me to just learn how to knit with needles :) )

  1. You do, however, need to learn how to read the knitting patterns for regular knitting needles. Many designs are composed of flat sections which are then seamed together. Some patterns have measurement diagrams for the sizes and shapes of the pieces. The patterns like this will be easiest to convert. You need to do "swatches" to determine the gauge you get from your yarns and looms. Then it's just a matter of DOING THE MATH. Oh, horror of horrors, there is a use for math beyond balancing checkbooks and following the plot in NUMB3RS (CBS TV series).
  2. I had the same problem so I started this wonderful loom knitting classroom where we have many loom patterns and teachers to teach them. You are more than welcome to join in. It's an informal virtual classroom where we learn new patterns & techniques at our leisure. No realtime classes.
