Any suggestions on where to search for fun / modern knitting patterns?

Everyone says to just type it into the search engine, but I keep coming up with the same stuff. Any tips on how / where to search. I like finding new patterns, but I've just hit a deadend, and I know that can't be true, the internet is huge!! Any suggestions or tips would be greatly appreciated. I like knitting toys, and fun items like that. I knit to kind of relax, so I like fun things.

1. Have you checked out Knitting Pattern Central? Are you looking to make some specific items? I mostly crcohet and I go use their sister site, Crochet Pattern Central, as my starting point when ever I am looking for a new project. HTH. good luck
2. Have you seen Knitty? They have four issues a year, and everything is fresh. That's just one idea for you.
3. I second Knitty.com as a great source for patterns. Also, I'd suggest Ravelry.com ... the site is currently in beta and there's a waiting list to join (only so that the site doesn't break under the weight of thousands of new profiles at once!), but there is a great video tour linked on the front page. I'm not in yet, but everything I read about it elsewhere on the internet is positive so far.
4. If you're looking to buy patterns, I've found Jimmy Beans Wool to be an amazing website! For free patterns knittingpatterncentral.com is pretty good...you just have to sift through to find great patterns. Is there something in particular you want to knit?
