  1. Hey...checkout this link : www.knittingpatterncentral.com
  2. llion brand yarns has tons of free patterns. You have to register, but it's free (most of them anyway) They also have extensive tutorials for knitting.
  3. I love Knitty's patterns -- and they're all rated according to difficulty: http://www.knitty.com The Knitty Level of Difficulty Index [Kind of like a menu. But not really.] Mellow * Suitable for beginners. * Relaxing, not mentally taxing. * Knitting as therapy. Tangy * Tired of rectangles? Ready for something more challenging? Try these. * Fun things with zing. A twist, even. Piquant * A little something for the seasoned knitter. * Daring but not exhausting. Extra spicy * Suitable for those with a lot of experience. Or patience. Or both. * These babies have teeth. * Hoo boy.
  4. A great free and easy knitting pattern is to make a square and the directions show you how to make that in to a bunny. You can start there: http://www.heartstringsfiberarts.com/bunny.shtm
  5. <G> Well, it really depends on what you want to knit. Google the names of various yarn companies, nearly all of them have free patterns from simple to complex on the net. You've gotten some very good suggestions from others, too. Just be careful of self-posted patterns because more often than not they have errors in them. Also, try the major knitting magazines' websites, they, too have many wonderful knitting projects that can be downloaded for free. Knitters, Interweave Knits, and Pieceworks (also at www.interweave.com) have wonderful pattern archives. Spin-Off at Interweave also has a number of lovely knitting patterns.
  6. http://www.knittingpatterncentral.com/ i go on this website everyday. Everything i knit comes from it. Lion brand has a lot of free patterns, but some of them are outdated.
