Where can I find fashionable knitting patterns online?

Would like to learn to knit...to make some things to wear...as a hobby maybe. Want to know where I can find fashionable patterns, directions to knit something for young adult...am 25 and like stylish and fitted items. Thanks!

  1. lionbrandyarn.com or bernat.com are my favorites. They carry patterns for all levels of knitters or crocheters.
  2. www.yarnmarket.com one of my favorite designers is Debbie Bliss. her patterns are modern, easy to do. She has different levels of difficulty.
  3. Wow! There are several sites! Just search for knitting patterns. Then do another search for knitting instructions and you will find several. Only you can decide which one will work the best for you. Here are a couple for instructions -- http://www.knittingwisdom.com/index.htm and http://www.learntoknit.com/instructions_kn.php3 and if you want more older wisdom, check out the Gutenberg Encyclopedia book of needlework online here -- http://www.gutenberg.org/files/20776/20776-h/needlework-h.html#TABLE_OF_CONTENTS Good Luck! ~-~
  4. lionbrand.com, elann.com and knitty.com are just a few of the excellent sites to download patterns. knitty is very current with most items geared for funky tastes. There are also lots of sites to learn to knit, sometimes you need a real person to teach you and there are lots of good teachers out there. Check out your LYS or Michael's for a class, well worth the investment.
  5. If you want something fashionable, the best place to find some free patterns is http://knitty.com (go to the archives to search via type of article of clothing). Otherwise you can look on http://knittingpatterncentral.com and sort through the patterns there for ones you like. If you need a website to help you learn to knit, go to http://knittinghelp.com . They have videos on how to do everything from beginning to end as well as advanced techniques.
  6. you can try berroco.com, but i would suggest that if your just starting out try to stay away from elann.com. those pattern would easily confuse you. try out with easy to read patterns like the ones that are listed above then as you get more familiar with the pattern reading, then try more complicated patterns
  7. There are many sites. Some are easier to navigate. Just type knitting into google and you will be ready to go.
