Any good sites to find free knitting patterns?

I just got back into knitting, and I love a good, interesting pattern. Any suggestions on places to find them.

  1. Try DIYnetwork site. They have a lot of knitting and crafts ideas there. Click on the site down below. Good luck!
  2. There are lots and lots. knitty.com has really nice patterns. You might do a web search for vintage patterns. I found some interesting and unique patterns searching for knittied lingerie patterns. Many of the yarn makers have free patterns, check out patons, and berocco for more sophisticated patterns. some knitting bloggers have their own patterns, and for socks especially, you would be amazed at the variety. Welcome back!
  3. Free online knitting magazines: http://www.knitty.com http://www.magknits.com http://www.theanticraft.com I find lots of inspiration (including free patterns) at: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?board=353.0 http://community.livejournal.com/knitting And if your local library doesn't have knitting books, they can get them for you via an interlibrary loan.
  4. Just google free knitting patterns, and you'll get more than you can even knit! Good Luck.
  5. I have had great fun with www.knitty.com. They have great patterns Good luck looking
  6. http://www.knittingpatterncentral.com/directory.php
  7. I like several (some already mentioned): http://www.knitty.com http://www.knittingfool.com http://www.knittingpatterncentral.com http://www.theboogerblog.blogspot.com/ and, of course I read www.yarnharlot.com every day. When Stephanie Pearl-McPhee had a link on her website I follow it as it is usually an interesting place to go.
