- dont doctors tell patients anything these days???
- PROLLY OUGHTA KEEP IT COVERED FOR ABOUT 3 DAYS. BUT LET IT AIR OUT WHEN YOU ARE JUST SITTING DOWN RELAXIN
- I am not a medic, but as long as you keep the area clean and dry I think it would be best to allow air to get to it. If you do anything messy or wet then cover it.
- all the while you have got stitches in please keep it covered until the hospital has seen it on thursday they will then take a look at it and might take the stitches out for you there and then and just put a light dressing on it afterwards to be left on for a few more days (you didnt say how many stitches you recieved )after a few days just take dressing of and let the air get to it to dry out .Deborah been a nurse for years now .
- sorry to hear about your accident - best to keep it covered until they tell you otherwise! make sure you change the dressing every day and keep the area clean as best you can. Don't forget that a dressing will offer your wound a bit of protection from the outside world as well as keeping all the bugs and beasties out!
- you should never ALWAYS keep the dressing on. if you are just inside the house lounging around, you should uncover the wrapping and let it air out a bit.. because if you keep it covered for too long it will get all moist and can cause some healing problems, (will take longer to heal) so let it air out a bit a couple times a day and then put the wrapping back on. As for walking into the doctors office to get the stitches taken out, it depends on you, just as long as you dont get any dirt near the area. good luck
- Usually 2 days for post op dressings.
