Please help me pick the right wedding banquet dress.....?

It's for my best friend's wedding in September. It will be a big extravagant traditional Chinese wedding and the banquet will be in a high-class setting after 6:30 p.m. I'm ordering my dresses all "custom-made." I'm not one of her bridesmaids cuz I'm already married with kids, but, as her best friend, the elders asked me to do the honorable "hair-combing-blessing" ceremony the night before the wedding (we don't do Bachelorette parties in Chinese customs). Much like one cannot wear white in American customs to upstage the bride, those are the Chinese "bridal colors" that are against the elders' policy. Yellow resembles gold, so it's a violation of conduct as well.
