Best Home Sewing/Embroidery machine brand? ?

What is the best brand for home/small commercial use? One that supports computer software/thumbdrive or straight connection etc for loading custom graphics/fonts etc. Also if you have a suggestion for software, that would be apprecciated mac or pc

  1. Do you mean an embroidery machine? My personal preference would be this one: http://www.husqvarnaviking.com/uk/Designer_Diamond.html Mind you, as the best price I've seen for it is £4495.00, I'll need a lottery win! If you want a multi-needle embroidery machine for business use, look here: http://www.polo-shirts.co.uk/poloshirts_article/3/4/Choosing_an_embroidery_machine_type.html
  2. Janome and it's amazing . I have had mine for about 15 years now and Love it ;)))
  3. You need to consider your budget for this question: Husqvarna is considered to be the cream of the crop. Bernina Janome Elna Brother are all very good machines with a good service backing. Consider your dealer availability for servicing and extras for your machine. Try http://www.dekatzenembroidery.co.za for more info on their tips page.
  4. I would go with a Viking embroidery machine too. I have had one for over 10 years. You need to try them out at sewing machine stores. A good top of the line machine is going to cost you at least $4000.00 plus. To do baseball caps, download company logos to sew out you should check into professional machine.
  5. There are several really good machines on the market. Bernina, Baby Lock, Janome to mention some. I personally have a Janome 11000. My recommendation is for you to visit the dealers and make sure they provide support and will service your machine. I use and recommend BuzzTools software. They have a good support group, offer classes and have an online tutorial.
  6. One thing to consider... home sewing machines are not engineered for day after day, hour after hour duty cycles, and the warranty on a new home machine is generally voided by using it for commercial use. That may or may not be a consideration for you.
