Stitches

How do I order custom embroidered shirts?

I won a dozen custom embroidered shirts on Ebay. I've never had any custom embroidery work done. Honestly I bid just for the hell of it, and ended up winning them ridiculously cheap. So I guess the plan is to have some shirts made and resell em since I really have no use for a dozen identical shirts. I have the image I want to use, but it's on a white background, and I want it on a colored shirt. Do I need to remove the white background, or can I specify the background should be transparent? What format should the image be? I have Photoshop, so any tweaking I gotta do is gonna be in there. Oh, and one more thing, they specified there's a 5,000 stich limit. How do I know how many stiches my image will use? Thanks "ROTFL.... who randomly bids on embroiderd shirts??"? I do. I have a habbit of bidding on things I don't even need when I'm bored. Winning stuff cheap keeps me entertained, lol. One more thing. How do I determine what size my image will be? I know this is alotta questions, but I browsed YA a lil for answers before posting, and didn't find anything. Wow, if I can only do something that's 1" x 0.75", I think I'll just give the shirts to my son and have him give them to his friends at school, lol. Thanks.

  1. ROTFL.... who randomly bids on embroiderd shirts??
  2. Pick out a Regiment fighting in Iraq or Afghanistan and have their logo attached and donate them to them
  3. Images will be converted to stitches using "Digitizers". I don't think you have software like that, it's pretty expensive. But usually, embroiderers will do it for you at a small cost. 5,000 stitches is good enough for most images. The more complex your image, the higher the stitch count. You don't have to remove the white background. You can have the embroiderer do taht for you. The format EPE or any vector art file is preferred but most would take JPEG and convert them for you.
  4. With 5,000 stitches you can emb a small logo let say 1.5" X 1" not much creation you can do. What I suggest is you create a small logo about 1" X 0.75" on the right chest or the pocket. Maybe you can resell it, some people like simple design too.
