How long do dissolvable stitches take to dissolve?

I got a surgery on October 24,2011. Stitches are at the back of my head. There are about 10 stitches. Its been a month and I still notice my stitches when I put my finger over there.

1. Not quite the same, but my dog had surgery in summer and the vet said the dissolving stitches would take at least 7 weeks.
2. Stitches are classed as dissolvable or absorbable if they lose most of their strength within 60 days. So upto 60 days
