why aren't my home made baby blankets selling on ebay?

I have 2 hand crochet baby blankets that I made on ebay and I've had to re-list them over and over. Can anyone give me any suggestions on what might help them sell? The urls to look at them are: http://www.ebay.com/itm/260846557515?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649 and http://www.ebay.com/itm/260846557939?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649

  1. Take a better picture, the lighting is too low and you should show a picture of the whole blanket. Also, ebay really isn't the best venue for selling homemade articles. You should open an Esty account and list them there. http://www.etsy.com/
  2. I agree, the photograph is really important. you have to remember ebay is different to shopping on the high street, people usually like to pick things up, touch the fabric ect ect they need to be able to see exactly what it is they are getting. a picture where you can see more what kind of knit it is (like the pattern style ect) would really help. and i suggest laying it out as people cant see what kind of size it is (i know you wrote the measurements but most people are too lazy to check what that size is) and remember the most important thing is light. you need loads of light!! i sell loads of absolute rubbish on ebay but no matter what kind of rubbish it is it seems to sell, i take all my pictures outside on the grass. whether its a pair of socks, a table, a fridge.... natural light is the best light around and the green of grass always makes the items pop out at you. also your description is a little vague, i suggest looking up someone elses baby blanket that has bids on it and copy there script and adapt it to yours acording. maybe state if your a smoke or pet free home. if the blanket is nice and soft or fuzzy and warm winter blanket is it thick or light weight? say whether its washed. how long it takes you to create this masterpiece.....plush wool?? maybe say you've sold a few to locals and they are all loved so much! with ebay you still need to be a sales person get your pitch right and you can sell anything!! good luck :)
  3. Hi Aj, I checked your listings. Yes, it's the pictures! A good photo says a lot. It needs to make me want to buy. I need to see exactly what I'm buying. Change the photos and try Etsy!
