Help How to properly care for stitches?

How to properly care for stitches? i just had a huge mole removed from under my boob and the Doctor went really deep to get all of it out but all he said was no swimming in the lake this weekend and rest so i don't get a staff infection i go back in 2 weeks to have the stitches removed but what all do i need to do to care for the wound in the mean time

1. Just keep them dry, and protected from dirt or rubbing on clothes. I'm assuming they are covered with a pad, so if you do wash around them, just dab gently with warm water, making sure you don't get the pad wet, and dry thoroughly.
