how much should i sell my home made crochet baby blankets for?

  1. It depends what size. Also how much u bought the material. You have to calculate things around.
  2. You need to compare similar items for sale locally. People will pay a premium for something unusual. For regular run if the mill stuff they look for the cheapest.
  3. it depends: you won't get as much at a flea market as you would a craft show acrylic, worsted weight, homespun, silk, thread... granny squares or vintage pineapples all these things affect the price that people will pay If you are selling online, go on etsy.com, find something comparable and see what they are asking for their work. I know that didn't exactly answer you question but I hope it gives you some insight.
  4. Put "crochet baby blankets" on the search and see for how much they are selling them over the internet. That will give you an idea of how much to charge for them.
  5. There is no single answer for this. It all depends on the size, the design, the materials used, where it is being sold, etc. You need to look at some others that are being sold in your area, and make a comparison. Is your blanket better or of less quality than those being sold? Can you compete? Can you match that price, and still make some profit for yourself? You need to add up all the material cost, the overhead, the advertising, your time, etc. and come up with a price. Can the market bear this price? If not, then try to cut corners somewhere to bring it down to an acceptable level. Remember that it is very hard to sell handcrafted items for a profit. People just do not want to pay for your time! That is why so many cheap products come from overseas and being sold in WM for so little -- that is because they don't pay anything for labour! You cannot afford to do it for nothing. Make sure you are making your blankets very special and unique. They cannot be a copy of something they can get at any store. Use good quality materials. Wool and cotton will last so much longer than will cheap acrylics (which are very dangerous to use for a baby). Create a unique design. Learn to make them very quickly! Crochet is very easy to do, but does not create as nice or soft a fabric for a blanket as does knitting. People will pay for quality -- cheap they can get at any big box store.
