What sites will help me get the basics of knitting?

Can someone tell me some sites that will easily tell me the basics of knitting, how to cast on, cast off, and so on. I need a site that will thoroughly tell me everything I need to know about knitting. Can someone please help me!! And if you have information that you know, please tell as well!! Thanks!

2. I agree with Lily that You Tube is a wonderful resource on learning the how-to's of knitting. I also frequent a forum on about.com to help answer questions quickly.

4. I like knittinghelp.com and lionbrand.com Lionbrand has written instructions with diagrams you can print out as well as videos. Knittinghelp has excellent videos of almost any knitting technique you can think of and shows the technique in Continental and English styles of knitting.
