If you have 60 stitches on a knitting needle; the pattern says knit 3 purl3-?
I have a pattern that says knit 3 purl3(w'60 stitches)It also says knit the purls and purl the knits.Isn't it the same to say-every row starts with knit and ends in purl?

- If you are knitting rib then yes, that is correct. Usually though if a pattern says purl the knits it means the stitches that look like knits on the work as it faces you, not the knits on the previous row. In this case the last 3 stitches that you purled on row 1 will look like knits when you turn to knit the second row. So the instruction purl the knits mean you purl the first 3 stitches.
