My Stitches are burning a week after surgery on my broken leg?

i recently had surgery from a broken leg and had stitches. a week later they are burning. Why?

1. You have a rare disorder called, burningwound syndrome. If you put antibiotic ointment and salt on it it will stop the burning and heal much faster.
2. I would bet that a week out you have become more active and the activity can create tension or pulling on the suture line. There can also be some swelling with the increased activity. I'm sure you have a cast on but watch the activity levels. on another thought if you are having symptoms of an infection (fevers,chills, general feeling sick) you will need to call your surgeon. If the incision site has become infected this will cause inflammation and stress on the suture line and increased pain. Good luck
3. It's in the healing process, have you ever had a small cut and once it heals it starts itching, He may have put in stitches in that dissolve on there own if not u will have to go back for Him/Her to remove the stitches at that time ask the doctor about it. Good Luck
