How should I go about collecting crochet hooks?

I've always had an affinity for handmade crochet hooks. However, I've only ever seen them on eBay and Etsy. It seems like that would be a lazy way to collect, but then again I don't know where else to find handmade hooks. I've never collected anything before, how should I go about starting my collection?

1. do watch ebay and etsy and get whatever strikes your fancy if you wish. That is NOT a lazy way to collect these very rare items. Also go to flea markets, garage sales, crafts festivals, etc. You never know where you can pick up some excellent collectables. The above advice is for any collectable hobby any one might think up. I have over 1000 crochet hooks, both commercially made and hand made. One is even ivory!!
