HOW MANY STITCHES DO YOU DO IN DOUBLE CROCHET IN AFGHANS?

- There is no one answer for this question, as it depends on the size of the afghan and pattern that you are doing, and the type of yarn you are using. Look up a pattern that you like on freepatterns.com and the directions will give you all the info you need.
- If you're asking how many chains to start with, you have to make a small sample swatch of your chosen switch pattern. Measure how many stitches you have per inch. Multiply that by how wide you want the afghan to be. This only works if you use the same hook and same yarn you will be using for the actual blanket.
- depending on the weight of the yarn and the size hook used it could be as few as 100 and as many as 250 across the base chain line. I am currently working with Sugar n Cream cotton and G hook. It makes about 4 stitches to the inch. and 2.5 rows to the inch.
