In crochet which is 2nd chain from hook?
I've been knitting for years, and I want to learn crochet. I even went to some classes but I did NOT like the teacher (the class later disbanded for same reason - no one liked her). I know how to make a chain, but when the directions say "single crochet into 2nd chain from hook" which chain is this? My issue isn't just the 2nd chain, but how do I know which is the 1st, 3rd, etc "chain from hook"?

- Not the loop the hook is in, not the next one after that, but the next one . So if u were to count the one the hook was in second chain from hook would be the thiird one
- okay so you have the chain done now you go into the second last stitch and you insert the crochet into , and you begin your row . http://www.knitting-n-crochet.com/images/crochet-basics-18-22.jpg
- You never count the loop that's on your hook as a stitch. So beginning from the last chain you made (closest to the hook) that would be the 1st chain from hook, the next one would be the 2nd chain from hook, and so on...
