What size crochet hook to use for this yarn?

I'm American, not using a pattern, just trying to learn the crochet stitches. I'm using leftover yarn that I bought for knitting, which has knitting needles pictured on the label with "US 10.5" and "6.5 Metric" around it, but absolutely nothing to convert to crochet hook sizes. Does anyone know how to convert from knitting needle sizes to crochet hook sizes? Thanks!
