How do I keep my crochet work from curling?

I am starting to crochet and every time I do more rows the work curls and becoms round. How do I stop this?

  2. 1. Your starting chain is too tight - rework your starting chain with a hook at least 2 sizes larger than recommended. 2. Your tension is getting looser as you work - try tightening your tension or work with a smaller hook size. 3. You are adding extra stitches on your rows - keep count on every row to make sure that you have the same amount of stitches.
  3. I have been crocheting and knitting for years and still have the same problem . Sometimes if your making something that will be attached to something else, I don't worry about it but if it something else like the front part of a sweater or something similar I look to find an edging that will blend in with the pattern of the item I made and attach it.
