Circumcision Stitches?

Ok i got circumcised 1 week ago and i have a few ?'s about my stitches 1) What type of underwear should i wear?!?! i tried briefs and boxers but they hurt because my stitches keeps touching them and it HURTS! 2) Is it true if i take a shower that it will make the stitches dissolve too soon?!? I have only taken one shower so far this week because i don't know if it will dissolve too soon or not... My doctor said i should take a shower 2 days after surgery so i did... 3) Is there any way to make the stitches stop hurting when i try to wear any type of underwear?!? 4) Is there a way to make my penis heal a little faster because i'm going back to school in about 4-5 weeks? Thank you and please answer all my questions =]

  1. The doctor who was responsible for mutilating you should answer your questions. Obviously you didn't look into the adverse effects and complications involved before you took this drastic step. The doctor was paid for it; he should answer your questions. Circumcision is the worst hoax ever perpetrated on the male sex. A foreskin is not a birth defect; it is a birthright. ERIC
  2. Ask your butcher on what needs done.
  3. When your doctor said you could take a shower two days after surgery, he meant that you could RESUME taking showers then. In other words, after 2 days you can shower as often as you want to. If you can get hold of an athletic cup (like cricketers and baseball players wear) put this inside a pair of tight briefs. The cup will stop your penis coming into contact with your clothes. You could also try wrapping a few layers of crepe bandage around your circumcision wound, but spread on some vaseline to stop it sticking. The healing could be sped up by applying hydrocortisone cream, but your doctor would have prescribed this for you already if he thought it was necessary. A month should be plenty of time for it to heal up. I am sorry that it was found necessary for you to be circumcised.
  4. 1) Just wear loose fitting underwear 2) With regards to the stitches, Just wait 24-48 hours before you have a shower (keep the area clean and dry before this time). The stitches will dissolve in approximately 10-14 days 3) No basically 4) No basically. A certain amount of discomfort is natural and is to be expected after a body part has been removed. Steroid cream will not stop the discomfort and it won't make it heal any faster either, at most it might stop any itching, but don't put it on the genitals if you can help it, it just isn't rational. Just leave well alone, it will heal in no time. The Doctor and Nurses at the hospital should have explained aftercare to you, I suggest you contact them and ask for further advise if you need any
  5. 1. it doesn't matter 2 only take a shower when your doctor says you can. If you do that then you shouldn't hae to worry 3. Bandage them? 4. No you can't it should be healed by then. -Connor
  6. 4. Yes. Go to the beach (salt water ocean) and swim for like an hour or something or just dip your lower bod and it should kind of help. The warmish salt water of the ocean heals some wounds faster. Or if you cant find a beach near you, pour a bottle of salt in your bath tub and soak in for like an hour.
  7. I don't know why you got circumcised, but that's personal to you and I won't comment on that. For all I know it was truly medically necessary in your case. 1. I would say briefs would be best because it limits your penis from moving around a lot. This means less rubbing against the glans (penis head) and stitches. If the stitches hurt when touched, try wrapping them in gauze or bandage. That should help a little. 2. I don't think showering more would cause the stitches to dissolve any sooner than they would otherwise. Do shower every day though, because you need to keep the wound clean to prevent infection and such. Don't use soap on that area as that could cause pain. Also, be sure to dry the area gently and thoroughly when you're done showering. 3. See response to number 1. 4. Your penis should be fully healed in 4-5 weeks. It may still be sore and there will probably be a scab and maybe a few stitches that haven't dissolved yet, but for the most part it'll be all healed up.
  8. You can keep showering now, but don't of coarse let the water do any direct hits on your gear. I would put some Vaseline on the area where the surgery took place, and on the head of your penis and put some mesh type sterile dressing to cover both the injury and the head. Use some medical tape to keep it there. Do this until your healed more, as it will prevent any direct contact and rubbing on the stitches, incision and your still full of sensitive feelings knob. Both the incision part is going to hurt and so is the head of your penis which has become accustomed to being protected from contact by your foreskin. Use those really thin cotton boxer type shorts that weigh almost nothing and that won't put much pressure against your sore parts. 4 to 5 weeks should help allot. Keep vitamin E oil on your penis head and the circumcised shaft to hold in moisture and preserve the head from rubbing and getting dry. That oil promotes healing as well. Hope all works out for you, and wish that you hadn't put yourself through this! Me! :- )
