after wisdom teeth extraction, how to keep the site clean?
I had my top and bottom wisdom teeth on my right side extracted two days ago, and I have stitches on one of them. How do i keep the stitched up side clean? i am afraid i am getting food stuck in the area with the stitches. I know i can't rinse or brush or use any kind of sucking motion to get it out, so how can i keep that area free of debris? i am scared it'll get infected, how do i know if it's infected?

- Your oral surgeon should have given instructions for that. If you can call or ask them since they should know the do's and dont's
- Hi there, I just had a wisdom tooth extracted by an oral surgeon. After the first day, you can use a small syringe to squirt a solution of salt water into the area of extraction. This will flush out the food particles, encourage healing, and you should do fine. If you are concerned about how you are doing, call your dentist and return for a check-up. My fee came with this appointment already set up. I had very good results.
- since its been 2 days that you got your teeth extracted, you can now start to use mouthwash to keep your teeth clean. to fasten healing and prevent infection you should start doing warm salt water rinses 4-5 times/day for a week. this will increase the blood supply to the gums and bone to promote healing.
