Stitches

Is it safe to take out the stitches from wisdom tooth extraction?

I've had my wisdom teeth out since Monday so it's been about 3 days. I feel the threads from the stitches sticking out with my tongue and they are just really annoying.

  1. I wouldn't do that. When I was twelve, I had reconstructive surgery on my nose and they took the cartilage from my ears. I had annoying stitches in my ears and the threads were sticking out, so I decided to play with them and sort of pull them out gently. I stopped when I realized there was blood gushing out and all over my hand, and my scar is pretty bad from where I pulled them out. You probably aren't worried about scars, but there will be a gush of blood that will taste disgusting and probably upset your stomach if you swallow it. You could also delay healing, all bad things. Just wait it out. You should have some yummy vicodin to take to get your mind off of the stitches.
  2. no its not safe as its only 3 days it can start bleed as well as there may be chances of flape diplacement so let it heal at least for 7 days and if thread is annoying than it must be too long visit ur doc. and get it cut short n keep doin warm saline gargle
