Crochet stitches for beginners?
I've just learned to crochet and can do a single and double chain stitch. What are some other stitches I can try that are easy enough for a beginner?

- www.lionbrand.com This site shows you how to crochet.
- The Lion brand sight is good but to more thoroughly answer you question, half double crochet is my favorite stitch. You do so like the double crochet except you draw through all three loops on hook instead of two, then two. Its between single and double in size and much quicker than single with your trying to get a solid piece, such as a dish cloth or baby blanket. There is one book that I would recommend beyond all others for beginners. It is The Complete Encyclopædia of Stitchery. It has every stitch imaginable and is very thorough. I have crocheted since I was nine and got this book when I was 11. I devoured it. I learned every stitch pattern in the book and then some and Before I was half way through I was well beyond my mother in skill. Now I teach her. I will find it for you and link it so you know what to look for. Also, I will recommend another sight that is wonderful. www.Crochetpatterncentral.com. They have thousands of patterns and is very well put together but also has a how to directory that is very extensive. I will leave links to that for you too. Happy stitching Nightshadetn PS I looked on ebay and there are cheaper copies of this but the one I linked is the best version. With the black binding desighed to stay open for you. The books with the regular book binding will wear out way too quick.
