Stitches

stitches on top of my foot , how to take care of it . etc ?

so today i dropped the blade of a meat slicing machine on top of my foot & blood was all over the place it was bleeding bad i put pressure on it & went to urgent care , they looked at it & said immediatley it wasn't a long cut but it was deep & needed stitches . so i got 3 stitches , well they put a gauze on it & said i needed to keep to gauze over the stitches for 24 hrs . right now when i walk it feels like the stitches are ripping out of my foot , i am limping while im walking and not bending my foot since it hurts . i just want to know if this is normal feeling or what , first time ever getting stiches so i have no clue what to expect . they told me to clean it with water & soap and keep it clean . they told me to come back in 7-10 days . can i go back on exactly the 7th day ? because the day after that i start school & really dont want stitches in my foot on my first day back in school . here's a picture of it . http://s208.photobucket.com/albums/bb268/COLA_040/?action=view&current=stitchesinmyfoot.jpg -kinda small . sorry *when i say come back on the 7th day , i mean come back & get the stitches removed .

  1. i didnt read your whole explanation: all i can say is that..when you have stitches just replace the gauze everyday and clean with any cleaning products for your wounds. (i guess you have wound) ^___^
  2. take it easy on the walking. the stitches may pull a little from pressure of movement of your foot. definitely keep it clean to prevent infection. you don't have to constantly check it, but do make sure you put a fresh bandage/gauze on it once or twice a day. look to make sure there isn't "gunk" oozing out. if there is, you may need to clean & change bandage more often. make an appt for the 7th day to get your stitches out. that way, you don't show up & risk them being too busy to see you. call on monday to get that set up.
