What are the duties of a clothing sales associate? working at stores like stitches, garage ect?

At stitches, it is to assist the customer in a friendly manner, giving additional information, present promotions and discounts, show off the newest 'styles' of the season, ie. coral, and floral. But we do not get commision, some people constantly ask if we do or say that we're just doing it for commision.
