- Hi: This Model you bought has only pre-program embroidery stitches and basic sewing stitches as well. However all is not lost; what you can do is to use the preprogram stitches and postion them in the hoop using your Ped -Basic Program to to make your pattern. one section at a time Also see if you can load scanned picture and do a part of them at a time. But you must remember not to exceed the embroidery hoop size, so you may have to remove the fabic from your embroidery hoop and put it back on in a repostion area and you may have to change your thread color from time to time. Hope this helps.
- I understand your frustration--I've gained a whole new respect for digitizers since getting my embroidery machine. You have what you need to digitize your own, but as you've discovered, there is a learning curve. The only program I know that will consistently digitize just about anything you scan into it is Pfaff/Viking 4D pro and it is very expensive. I would suggest that if you only have a few designs, you can have them digitized for you. www.digitizersworld.com and its sister site www.artisticthreadworks.com are a wealth of information on how to use the software you have and also hook you up with professional digitizers. Good luck--I finally broke down and just got 4D Pro and I couldn't be happier.
- If you have Embird, you just need to upgrade to Studio to have the digitizing software added. It is one of the easier programs to learn but you need the font engine if you plan on doing any auto digitizing with it. Even with the autodigitizing feature, there are usually alot of changes to be made and figured out. Another program that is currently out of production, but a dependable one that is more affordable is the Autodigitizing 4.0. It is very user friendly and you can manually punch (hand digitize) as well as autodigitize depending on your desire. sometimes, though as with embird, the autodigitizing requires more fixes than it would have taken to do it yourself the first time. My recommendation is to try before you buy and make an investment. Digitizing is sometimes tedious until you can get it right. There are yahoo groups out there for each of the digitizing programs that can give you advice as well as embroidery groups that have alot of folks who digitize on them that can help you make the decision before you make the investment.
