Knitting needles!..........................

Okay I recently started knitting and I got a beginners pack with 3 balls of yarn knitting needles two projects & instructions on how to do them but it did not say the size of the needles anywhere. I want to know the size so I know what projects I can do. So, how do i figure it out! Thanxx in advance! ♥

  1. They are probably about a 9 or 10 as that is what is usually supplied in the beginner kits. You can go to the knit shops and they have a gauge that you can stick the needle into that will tell you what size they are. All my needles have either a number on the cap end or on the metal collar just below the cap end. They all expect you to upgrade the quality of the needles soon after learning. When you do, I have fallen in total awesome love with Bamboo needles!! You can pick any project that calls for "worsted weight" yarns and be safe that your needles are nearly correct size for making it.
  2. The size should be on the end of the needle, or in the directions. Or there is a plastic tool that craft/yarn stores have that has wholes in it for the different sizes that you can buy for a couple of dollars.
  3. There is a ruler that is sold in craft stores like"Michael's" .It's called "knit check" ,and it has a whole bunch of holes in it ,where you put the needle and it tells you what needle size is it .It is also use to check the gauge of you work .Happy knitting!
