Got a one-piece patchwork crochet afghan pattern?

I'm looking for an afghan pattern that looks like patchwork but is done all in one piece, not squares sewn together.

  1. The good thing about crochet, if you have been doing any at all, is that you can start any colour at any time. So you can do any blanket (afghan) that you want, and insert a colour wherever you like. Do some planning, so they look like they belong together, and work according to your graph or "pattern". You can do them row by row, changing colours as needed (you do know how to change colours, and how to do intarsia, don't you?), or you can do separate colour blocks and attach new colours and work them in "patches" as you attach them to the existing work. You can attach new stitches along the top or along the sides just as easily. You don't need a special specific "pattern".... just do it as you go. But draw out a plan on paper, just to serve as a guide.
