Stitches

Is there a vet in NH that knows proper follow-up care for a Doberman ear crop?

I rescued a beautiful Doberman that was taken from a breeder about two days ago. He has already had his ears done, so I am desperate to find a vet in NH (Manchester, NH area) who can provide follow up care. Stitch removal, posting, taping, etc. I would like to get him in ASAP, I hope one of you can help.

  1. Contact your nearest Doberman club, they will be able to recommend someone in the area.
  2. Just like what DaBasset said. Google DPCA, look at their breeder referral list (in your area) and contact a few of the members for help with a Vet referral, and someone may also be close by to you that can post the pups ears for you on a regular basis. (I'd be more than happy to help you if you were in my area of MI)
  3. Yes, look (online) for a local Doberman club in NH or call the local all-breed kennel clubs' secretary (AKC has a list) & ask if they can refer you to a member or members with Dobermans for referral to a vet familiar with the breed.
  4. good luck with your new doggie i have 5 of them and they are fantastic
  5. Any vet can do stitch removal. As far as posting a much better source than your vet would be an experienced Doberman Breeder in your area. Go to DPCA.org and check the breeder referral page. There are no breeders listed in NH but there are likely breeders fairly close in surrounding states who will be willing to help you or may even know a breeder who is not listed that is closer to you.
