Stitches

Taking Care of Stitches?

I just got stitches in this afternoon on my leg and I heard I should cleanse with a solution so which is better hydrogen peroxide or sodium chloride, I have both so price is unnecessary. Also what should I do with my wound these first two days.

  1. Sodium chloride is the better choice. Peroxide tends to be damaging to tissue. It depends on who put the stitches in, but I have always advised to keep a wound clean and dry the first couple of days. If the advise to clean it was NOT from your health care provider, please be sure and check with him/her for instructions.
