Knitting patterns?

I need a website that has free knitting patterns. I kind of want something funky and weird, not the usual rectangular scarf. But, I am only in the beginning stages of the intermediate level, so it has to be somewhat easy as well. Can ya help a fellow knitter out? :)

  1. http://www.woolworks.org/patterns.html http://www.craftown.com/knit.htm http://www.freepatterns.com/ here are a couple to get you started on your search. Basically if you do a search for "free knitting patterns" on any search engine, I used yahoo.ca, you can find a great deal of them, I like craftown.com myself, I crochet and they have a good crochet section. Others like freepatterns.com you have to sign up for, but they are still free. Happy knitting. :c)
  2. about.com/knitting has a library of free patterns interweavepress.com lionbrand.com
  3. these are my two favorites; they are updated weekly. Somebody spends hours scouring the web for new patterns and lists them all on these sites. They have EVERYTHING (just about).
  4. I refer to most of the pattern sites that the previous posters recommended, but here are 3 of my personal favorites: www.knitty.com -- a quarterly online modern knitting magazine. They have surprising and unusual patterns from beginner to expert, great articles on different knitting techniques, and an archive page that lists all the patterns from every issue. www.magknits.com -- not as extensive as knitty, but new patterns are added once a month. www.theanticraft.com -- this is also a quarterly periodical. It's not exclusively about knitting; they also have some crochet, craft, and food recipes. It's geared toward the subculture crowd and has exciting and deliciously odd projects!
