Stitches...............?
How long do the stitches "down there" take to disolve? I had my baby 2 weeks ago.

- 6 weeks I would think...please dont have sex before then...you will get a PID...pelvic inflammatory disease..not pretty
- Dissolvable stitches generally dissolve in 10 days, but there are different kinds that dissolve at different rates: http://health.howstuffworks.com/question611.htm "which depending on the suture can be from ten days to four weeks." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suture#Absorbable_and_nonabsorbable_sutures
- Mine took about 5 weeks to dissolve. But everyone's different so it could be less or more.
- the stitches should have dissolved by now they are normally gone by 5 days. Really depends on how many stitches you get . I only had 3 .
- Within 4 weeks they are usually gone. Don't have sex with them they'll dissolve faster and you may need another set. Good luck
- I had to go to the doctor to have mine removed
- a couple of weeks, but sometimes it feels as though the stitches are still down there when they are not. Because you still have a soar. My son is seven years old and sometimes when I make out with my husband I can feel the scar. It does not hurt but I know it is there.
