Can I Still Crochet Various Stitch Patterns if i have a larger Crochet Hook?

see i've mistakenly ordered a larger 10mm crochet hook. Now cos its so thick that its makin me wondering if m limited to only few stitches,in other words would i still be able to do an afghan stitch,beanie stitch and many other stitches but using a thicker yarn? pls let me know as soon as. I thank u for ur time.

  1. It'll be no problem - just mind that whatever you stitch on the larger hook will be also larger than the pattern suggests.
  2. Every pattern that you follow gives you swatch measurements. It gives you a specific amount of rows and a specific amount of stitches...these usually make up a 4 inch square. Take the hook that you have with whatever yarn you are going to use and make a square the same measurement as the swatch they give you for gauging. Once you figure out how many stitches and rows your hook will make you can rearrange the pattern accordingly.
