knitting knit stitches and crocheting crochet stitches?

Knitting knit stitches and crocheting crochet stitches? I know this is a really silly question to someone who might be an experienced knitter/crocheter, but I am having a little trouble! My pattern says: Row 1 - k2, *p2, k2 repeat from * to end Row 2 - Knit the knit stitches and purl the purl stitches as they face you Repeat Row 2 for 2 x 2 rib I have finished Row 1 and ended with two knits. Does this mean that on Row 2 I would start with two knits? Or am I doing the opposite? I'm sorry if this is confusing!

  1. When you turn the piece around, the two knit stitches will be purl as they face you. So purl 2, knit 2, etc. Knitting and crocheting are two entirely different things. You're knitting. The two basic stitches in knitting are knit and purl.
