Has anyone made the crochet afghan Stained Glass Beauty from the Afghans for all Seasons book?

My daughter in law fell in love with the Stained glass Beauty in the Afghans for all Seasons book. The pattern doesn't give the colors just MC and CC. Has anyone made this and can maybe suggest yarn and colors?

1. I dont have the book, nor seen the afghan, but I think going with a bright variegated yarn for the main color and black as a contrasting color would work.
2. Is it this one? http://hseger.wordpress.com/2008/05/13/the-stained-glass-window-afghan/ Look at these colors, they are lovely... Black and a bright gold, or a light teal would match nicely. :)
