How do I hold the thread in place in my crochet project?? Please help! 10 pts?
Yes I know this isn't exactly the right section for this question but it is my favorite section and I know there are other mothers out there that know how to crochet...I hope. I am working on a beanie cap for my daughter for the coming season. I am half way almost down the cap and I want to do a different stitch design however I want to hold my thread in place now so that if I don't do the stitch right, I won't mess up the whole hat. Please help! Thanks very much! Linda I KNOW this has nothing to do with Newborn and Baby. That is what I said in the question. I however like this section and figure some moms who know how to crochet could help me. You don't have to be rude! Jeez

- What has this got to do with 'Newborn and Baby'????? This should be in the 'House and Home' section!
- hon, i can crochet very well, but the only way to show you how to keep it in place that i know of is to show you how to hold it properly as you are crocheting and then all you do is control the tension as you stitch.....i think again, u need someone to show you or a instructional book to accomplish learning to crochet well...there are sooo many diffferent stitches and ways of putting pieces together, i don't have the words to begin to describe them; go to a craft store and look for the books with patterns; a lot of them, esp the bigger ones have great instructions and illustrations for a beginning crocheter....gl
