- depends on where they are. the stitches I had were inside. I couldn't even feel it
- I had stitches and it is uncomfortable, but not unbearable. It does hurt to go pee and you'll need to rinse off with warm water after going #1 and #2, but the stitches heal within a week or 2. So you just need to wear soft cotton underwear. You'll also be bleeding after birth, so you'll also need to wear a pad. No tampons.
- Yes but the hospital will prescribe you a prescription when you and the baby (HOW CUTE) goes home. don't mind me.i love babies.)
- I got stitches and the only thing that really hurt was peeing. It was agonizing every time I had to pee. What I finally started doing and this was the only way I could pee was I would run a tub of warm water and pee in the bath. While in the hospital I would use the shower every time, but once home the bath felt better. Just be sure to clean your tub after every use. I was scared to go #2, but it didnt hurt as bad as peeing. Be sure to clean the area well and wipe well.
- Just make sure you wear loose fitting cotton panties and loose fitting pants.
- my story may be a little different from everyone elses. i tore during birth and had to get stitches. mine did not hurt, i didnt even feel them. my lower body was still VERY numb from the epidural. i swelled a lot, even my doctor was shocked at the way my private area handled the birth of my first son. since i was so swollen, everything hurt. at the hospital they gave me this little squirt bottle to squeeze towards my private area to get clean because it was obvious that i could not wipe. i had to make sure the water was like freezing. my mom filled it up for me and i used it and it hurt like hell. i was hurting to i yelled at her and told her it had to be cold, and to her it was cold. for me, i felt like i just scalded my privates. since i was so swollen and raw, it did sting when i went pee. the first time i got to try to pee it was like i new i needed to but i just couldnt get it to come out. later, talking to my doctor i couldnt pee because i was so swollen. like i said, my case is a lot different than others. my doctor said she had never seen anyone swell like i did. good luck dear! hope this helped and i hope your birth goes better than my first one. if i freaked you out im sorry. just so you know, i had a second son and everything went perfectly. i did not tear or swell at all! good luck
- Its fine to wear undergarment(cotton briefs) no tongs of course...i didn't experience burning but if so use tuck pads...it would help 4 the discomfort...as for the showering go easy down there or better yet if u have a shower head that u can detach use that...i hope this helps
- Are you talking about episiotomy stitches or C-section stitches? I have never had an episiotomy, so I don't know about that, but I have had 2 C-sections, and yes, it does hurt to wear underwear and pants, because they usually hit right where the incision is. I found it best to wear granny panties (that come up really high, past the incision) and dresses for the first few days until the incision heals enough that the waistbands of underwear and pants doesn't hurt so much. Good luck!
- Underwear never irritated the stitches for me. It did hurt when I peed though, but squirting water on them with the peri-care bottle did help
