How can I make my own clothing tags (labels)?

I make cloth diapers and various clothing items, and I want to put my company name on them. I have seen people selling custom labels and even instructions on how to make your own custom labels. But I thought I would check here first and see if anyone can offer any advice. And I do not have an embroidery machine. And I don't want to use the cheap iron-on transfer paper, because it will peal and wash out quickly.

1. There are many things you can do. Have you thought about screen printing a small logo on the diaper? or using a button with a symbol you like and putting that in a spot that won't bother anyone on the diaper? overall I think the best idea would be, you can get a special kind of cloth you can use in your printer, you could print your logo on that and then sew that on to the diapers!
